You will gain knowledge, understanding and skills in a variety of construction disciplines which will prepare you for further study or employment in the construction industry. During the year you will develop skills and knowledge in building design and technology, building services, computer aided drawing, health and safety, construction materials, mechanics for construction, modern construction methods, and sustainability in the building industry.

You'll learn skills and gain knowledge from the following areas:
Architectural Design Sketching and Drawing; Building Measurement and Cost Studies; Building Science; Introduction to Building Services; 2D CAD (Computer Aided Design); Construction Industry Fundamentals; Construction Materials and Specification; Construction Site Surveying; Sustainability and Modern Methods of Construction; Domestic Construction Technology; Substructure Construction Technology; Maths for Construction; Built Environment Graded Unit.

Entry Requirements

Higher Maths or a science subject, or NC Built Environment or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Interview.
