Content

This full-time course follows on from the introductory course, is mainly workshop-based and will give students the chance to enhance their practical skills in Carpentry and Joinery to industrial standards. The course content includes laying floors, making and hanging doors, woodworking machines, measurement, drawing, and health and safety. The course can also include 1 day per week for work experience, to reinforce knowledge and skills obtained during the session.

Entry Requirements

Introduction to Carpentry and Joinery or relevant construction background. Interview.

Progression Routes

Students who gain employment could return to complete the PDA/SVQ at Level 3 in Carpentry and Joinery.
