Every organisation uses software and hardware to solve problems and perform tasks more effectively, so if you want to improve your career prospects, a good level of computing skills is essential. This introductory course is suitable for all types of people regardless of qualifications, age or work experience and will allow you to gain practical skills and a formal qualification in digital media computing. You will learn about a range of computer applications which will ensure that you are proficient in multimedia creation, basic games design, software development/programming and hardware installation and maintenance.
This qualification also embeds 3 NPAs (National Progression Awards). You will also gain industrial experience by working in the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Centre. This placement will allow you to improve and develop your hardware skills in a realistic environment.
2 subjects at National 4 preferably including English, Maths or Computing Science. Aptitude test.
