In partnership with the University of the West of Scotland, this specialist programme in computer networking is designed to build upon your HND Computing: Technical Support, and allows you to complete your degree in one year at the college.

It deals with the central issue of network design and optimisation and focuses on more advanced aspects of server and network design, administration and management as well as further developing your professional and interpersonal skills.

This programme is recognised by the British Computer Society (BCS) as fulfilling Part I of the academic requirements for membership. (Full membership of the BCS requires the completion of a recognised Honours or Masters degree programme fulfilling both Parts 1 and 2 of the academic requirements).

Both Windows and Unix/Linux system administration will be covered, giving you the knowledge and skills required to maintain servers on a network. You will also learn more about data security and the operation of networks.

Entry Requirements

HND Computer Networking with Cyber Security or other relevant HND.

Progression Routes

Upon completing your BSc degree you can progress to BSc (Honours) in Computer Networking at the University of the West of Scotland's Hamilton or Paisley campuses.
