This one year full-time course is designed for students who wish to develop knowledge and skills in Gaelic Celtic culture. This course includes a residential cultural visit to Sabhal Mòr Ostaig in Skye to develop Gaelic language skills.

Course Content:
Celtic Studies; History of the Celts in Scotland; Storytelling in the Celtic Tradition; Politics in the Celtic Nations; Heritage Industry in Scotland; Gaelic.

Entry Requirements

This course is open to everyone, but is aimed particularly at school leavers and mature applicants.

You should ideally have 3 subjects at Nationals 5, including English. Work experience or volunteering in the creative and culture industries will be considered for mature students.

Progression Routes

Successful completion of the NC in Celtic Studies will allow progression to Higher National Programmes in Social Science, Events Management and Tourism; or a degree programme in Scottish or Celtic Studies.
