This exciting Care Partnership course: Glasgow Health and Social Care offers you the chance to complete a college course together with a paid placement from the Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (GCHSCP).

This unique course is aimed at those with a genuine interest in working in older adult services. This work is about helping people to live well and achieve the things in life that really matter to them. You’ll go home each day knowing you made a difference.

The subjects you will study include:
Social services in Scotland; Safeguarding people; Communication in care relationships; Safe practice and wellbeing in social services; Human development and social influences; Caring for people with dementia; Prevention of infection.

Entry Requirements

2 or 3 subjects at National 5 including English preferred. Interview. You must be 18 or over to apply.

You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of work. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.

Progression Routes

Following successful completion of the course and internship you will be guaranteed an interview for a social care assistant post within GCHSCP Older People’s Residential Care Homes.
