This NC Electrical Engineering course will equip you with the skills and knowledge required to progress to a career in electrical engineering. With the boom in renewable energy and the already diverse number of electrical engineering roles, this has led to demand for electrical engineers in the job market.

This course can begin to help you achieve your goals and can lead to further progression to our HND Electrical Engineering course or to university.

The NC Qualification is a vital entry-level qualification both for getting into Engineering jobs and for progression when working within the industry. It is a vital component of the Modern Apprentice framework.

Core Units:
Communication Core Skill Unit; Mathematics: Technician 1; Engineering: Applying Information Technology.

Mandatory Units:
Electrical Principles; Fundamental Electrical Systems; Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations; Single and Three Phase Induction Motors; Electrical Testing and Measurement.

Optional Units:
Earthing and Earth Fault Current Protection; Engineering Project; Electrostatics and Electromagnetism; Transformation and Rectification.

Entry Requirements

3 subjects at National 5 including Maths or Physics.
