Content

This highly demanding course requires attendance of two and half days per week at college combined with up to two days per week in supervised practice and self-directed study. The course will be delivered by practicing, experienced registered counsellors using a wide range of assessment methods including case studies, essays and reflective accounts.

Values and Principles of Practice; Self Evaluation for Counsellors; Supervised Practice; Personal; Development in a Therapeutic Setting; Group Experience: Humanistic Approach; Research Skills; Contemporary Humanistic and Pluralistic Counselling Theories; Psychopathology; Professional Standards; Working with Addictive Behaviour; Working with Substance Misuse; Graded Unit

The HND enables professional registration as a Counsellor and a member of the BACP.

Entry Requirements

HNC Counselling. Relevant experience. You will need to gain student membership of BACP prior to beginning the course.
