This new course combines the theoretical aspects of chemistry and chemical engineering, with the principles and practices relevant to the modern chemical and process industries.

What you will learn:

You will build up an excellent understanding of a broad range of theoretical aspects of chemistry and chemical engineering skills, including:

Chemical engineering: Principles; Fundamental Chemistry: Theory and Laboratory Skills; Organic Chemistry: Theory and Laboratory Skills; Heat Transfer Theory and Practical Skills; Fluid Mechanics: Theory and Laboratory Skill; Engineering Mathematics; Physics Principles: Mechanics; Fundamental Chemistry: Theory and Laboratory Skills; Physical Chemistry: Theory and Laboratory Skills; Physics Principles: Heat and Thermodynamics; Chemical Process Technology: Graded Unit 1.

You will also learn to perform a vast range of chemical and engineering techniques essential for industry and academia.

Entry Requirements

1 Higher, preferably in Chemistry, plus 4 subjects at National 5 including English and Maths. Or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6
