This course is an introduction to the some of specialist opportunities that exist in the Production Arts sector with the emphasis on sound, lighting, and audio-visual skills. Production Arts covers a wide range of in-demand specialist skills supporting live events in the entertainment and corporate events industries. including theatre and pantomime, music and comedy gigs in pubs and clubs, concerts in music venues, football stadiums and concert arenas, and of course the ever-popular outdoor festivals.

You could have ambitions to become a stage hand, a cable runner, a backline technician, assistant stage manager, lighting or audio operator or systems technician. In addition there are related roles where you can help support event production and management.

Entry Requirements

4 subjects at National 4 including English and preferably an art based subject.

Progression Routes

On successful completion of this Level 5 course you will be advised as to the best progression pathway into our creative courses at Level 6 or potential those at HNC level. These could be in Media and Communications, Acting and Performance, Sound Production or related subjects.
