The course is an exciting pathway into the world of music production. You will learn how to create and produce your own music from start to finish, developing skills in recording, mixing, mastering and production.

The course is ideal for any budding music producers, studio engineers, live sound operators, film/tv sound recordists and sound designers for games but also enables students with opportunities to perform live as well. The course will provide you with the skills to start your career in the music industry, whilst developing your confidence in music and audio production.

Course Units:

Principles of music performance and production; Critical listening and music composition; Music industry and professional practice; Critical and contextual awareness for music performance and production; Music production in context; Music performance in context; Preparation for specialist study in music performance and production; Collaborative music performance project.

Entry Requirements

2 subjects at National 5, preferably including Music, Music Technology, Media or Computing Science. Entry subject to interview.
