This course provides knowledge and skills necessary to access electrical / electronic and security systems apprenticeships or electronic fitters or technician level-type work. This innovative course contains all fundamental elements required in the establishment of foundation skills for the industry.

You will undertake theory and practical work with a focus on industrial applications and?complete the following units:

Mathematics: Craft 1; Communication practical skills?; Engineering: Using Information Technology; Electrical principles; Fundamental electronics; Electronic test equipment and measurement; Practical electronics; Combinational electronics; Soldering and circuit assembly techniques; Electronic simulation and testing; Application of programmable logic controllers; Engineering project

Entry Requirements

3 subjects at National 5 including English, Maths and Physics. Interview.
