This course is a technician-level qualification that will provide you with the basics you’ll need to enter into a career as a construction manager within the Built Environment.

During this course you will:

Develop your technical knowledge and understanding; Have the opportunity to develop and apply your critical reasoning and analysis skills to solve construction problems, using current industry standards and by applying contemporary industry techniques; and Develop your personal and business skills.

You will study:
Architectural Design Sketching and Drawing; Building Measurement and Cost Studies; Building Science; Introduction to Building Services; 2D CAD (Computer-Aided Design); Construction Industry Fundamentals; Construction Materials and Specification; Construction Site Surveying; Sustainability and Modern Methods of Construction; Domestic Construction Technology; Substructure Construction Technology; Maths for the Built Environment; Structural Mechanics; Statutory Control of Buildings; and Built Environment Graded Unit.

Entry Requirements

1 relevant Higher, or NQ Built Environment, or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Interview.
