This course introduces you to the knowledge and practical skills you'll need to work in Financial Services. The course focuses on understanding the Financial Services sector and the associated regulations, whilst also introducing desirable business skills such as sales, customer service, cash management and IT.

Units include:

Financial services: an introduction; Financial services: personal finance awareness; The regulatory framework; Communication; Promoting positive customer relationships; Lifeskills Maths: managing finance and statistics; Introduction to consumer and investor protection; IT solutions for administrators; Economics: Basic principles; Recording cash transactions; Numeracy; Selling skills; Promoting a business; Handling wages and salaries; Understanding business; and Developing skills for employment.

Entry Requirements

3 relevant subjects at National 5, or relevant Foundation Apprenticeship, or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 4 or 5. You will be invited for interview.

Progression Routes

Relevant HNC course such as HNC Finance, Risk and Business or HNC Accounting.
