Do you have an interest in fashion or textiles design? This course offers the opportunity to explore your creative side through a range of specially delivered units of study that prepare you for progression into a creative discipline of your choice. You will develop an understanding and basic skills in the areas of fashion design and garment manufacture. You will also have an opportunity to undertake a range of specialist units including units on Harris Tweed which will enable you to develop the basic skills required to seek employment at trainee level in the clothing manufacture, design and retail sectors and also give you the option of progressing to further study at SCQF levels 7 and 8, in particular to HNC/HNDs in fashion design and manufacture.

Through studying this course you will have the opportunity to develop an inspirational approach to research, design and production of fashion and textiles pieces from concept to final realisation and produce a professional portfolio of your work to present to employers, college, university or to set up your own business.
