The HNC in Sports Coaching, in partnership with Motherwell Football Club, gives learners the knowledge and skills necessary to work as professionals within Football or the wider discipline of sports development and coaching. Successful applicants will be placed within the Motherwell Football Club Community Trust (FCCT) programmes most suited to their home location and travel requirements. These work placements will provide invaluable experience within the Motherwell FCCT, allowing individuals to develop their coaching practice, employment and education prospects.

As part of the HNC, students will enhance their coaching practices while learning from experts in their field. Many of the lecturing staff coach at the highest levels allowing learners to benefit from their experience. In addition to live coaching sessions, learners will study sports development, sport science aspects such as anatomy and sports nutrition, and athlete wellbeing. The HNC in Sports Coaching, in partnership with Motherwell FCCT may also offer additional opportunities to participate in and support the wider activity of the organisation.
