This course is designed to offer school leavers and those with no formal bakery qualifications an opportunity to study the subject at an introductory level.

The course will provide you with knowledge, understanding and the skills required to progress onto further bakery courses. On this course, you will be able to make a range of baked goods including bread, pastries, pies, cakes, gateaux and desserts.

Course content:
Introduction to cake decoration; Introduction to bread making; Introduction to craft baking; Pastry; Cake decoration; Food hygiene.

Entry Requirements

2 subjects at National 4 including English, or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 4. Interview.
