New College Lanarkshire is privileged to offer the Higher National Diploma in Dental Hygiene a programme of study which, following successful completion, qualifies you to register with the General Dental Council (GDC)* as a Dental Hygienist. The programme is based on the General Dental Council’s (GDC’s) guidance document Developing the Dental Team and is kept under continual review to ensure that students are ‘fit to practise’ upon qualification.

Entry Requirements

Relevant dental qualification recognised by the GDC; relevant experience.

You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.

You will be required to be immunised in line with Occupational Health's recommendation.
