This course is designed to support those who wish to pursue (as a possible career path) working within the Wellbeing Industry. At the same time, many of the competences and skills achieved would allow candidates to make other career decisions and follow different pathways in the Beauty Industry. Such as working towards an HN and/or Vocational Qualification awards and to allow further development. This programme provides candidates with a broad understanding of a range of wellbeing therapies such as body massage, facial therapies, managing stress, health eating and benefits of Wellbeing Therapies.

This course prepares you for self-employment as a therapist or for working in a beauty salon or spa.

On this course you will learn the following:

Body massage; Wellness therapies: first aid in the salon; Wellness therapies: body structures and benefits of treatments; Healthy eating and wellbeing; Wellness therapies: managing stress; Scalp, neck and shoulder massage; Wellness therapies: an investigation; Wellness thereapies: facial massage; Thai foot massage.

In addition this course may cover skills such as: Introduction to face and body electrotherapy; Introduction to waxing; Eye treatments.

Entry Requirements

3 subjects at National 4, preferably including English, or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 4, Interview.
