BEng in Mechanical Engineering is a direct route to university. You will learn a range of modules including Thermofluids and Engineering Principles. These will be taught at a high level allowing you to develop transferable skills which are essential for your future engineering career. Your studies will include Higher National (HN) units on mechanical engineering subjects which will broaden your knowledge of the mechanical engineering industry.

In year 1 you will study the HNC in Mechanical Engineering and in year 2 the HND before progressing to the third year of the BEng in Mechanical Engineering at Heriot-Watt University. You must also study the additional Heriot-Watt mathematics alongside your normal studies, which covers the first two years of their mathematics content.
