Content

Covers multiple disciplines within the industry and facilitates the investigation of these topics in an academic manner at SCQF level 7. Areas covered include: Sports Coaching, Sports Development and a range of Sports Science topics. Learners will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to work as a professional within the sports industry in a variety of contexts. Learners have the opportunity to visit and participate in a variety of sporting events and festivals and gain additional sports and fitness qualifications. The course provides learners with the industry-recognised PDA qualification certified by SportScotland/CIMSPA (Level 2 Coaching Framework).

Entry Requirements

2 relevant Highers including English, Physical Education or a science subject. Or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. There will be an interview, practical test and written test.

Progression Routes

The HNC will articulate directly into the HND in Sports Coaching and Development upon successful completion of 15 credits. Successful learners may gain employment within the sport and fitness industry.
