Content

This course prepares adult learners who have returned to education for study at HNC or degree level at college or university in subjects including Teaching, Social Work. Law or Social Sciences.

Through the Scottish Wider Access Programme (SWAP), we provide proven routes to degree courses at Scottish universities. This course is also a pathway to a variety of HNC courses, or for topping up existing qualifications to meet the minimum entry criteria for university applications.

The course comprises units at SCQF levels 5 and 6 in subjects including Sociology, Psychology, National 5 Maths, Higher English, and ICT.

Alongside the course units, learners can access valuable volunteering opportunities through the college’s Learner Engagement Team. Guidance and assistance with UCAS applications are also available to help learners progress.

Entry Requirements

The suitability of all applicants will be assessed through interview and tests (e.g. written exercise and mathematics/numeracy tests). A detailed personal statement and satisfactory reference are mandatory.

If applying as a SWAP eligible applicant, this course requires you to have been out of full-time education for 3 years (if highest level of study is SCQF level 5) or for 5 years (if highest level of study is SCQF level 6 or above).
