This course is aimed at applicants currently working in a care setting who wish to develop their skills and knowledge.
This course is suitable if you want to pursue a career in nursing and other health-related fields. It combines the required academic knowledge with the skills and competencies gained from a practical vocational experience. This qualification is also suitable if you want to work as a Health Care Support Worker.
Some of the units you will study over two years are:
Clinical Skills for Care Practitioners; Professional Standards for Care Practitioners; Safe Working Practice for Care; The Human Body in Health and Illness; Sociology and Health in Scotland; Graded unit.
2 Highers including English, or Foundation Apprenticeship Social Services and Healthcare, or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6.
Applicants should also be currently employed in a care environment, where they can be supported to complete the practical aspects of the course.
