HNC Media and Communication (Shooting and Editing) is designed to equip you with the knowledge and practical skills to launch your career in the contemporary world of media and communication.
It is a dynamic field that calls for an agile workforce: self-shooting/editing reporters; proactive and empathic newsgatherers and programme-makers; articulate commentators, reviewers and presenters; PR and communications officers capable of producing media releases for a range of platforms.
By the end of the course, you will have a portfolio of work that demonstrates your applied skills in writing, presentation, radio, video and online production.
The course can be used as an access route to further study in relevant HND or degree subjects or can be seen as your pathway to an entry-level job within the industries.

Writing for the Media; Analysing and Delivering Complex Oral Presentations; Research Skills; Electronic Newsgathering; Video planning and production; Producing online radio content; Audio-visual techniques for multi-media applications; Law and the Media; Film Theory; Editing and proof-reading; Working in the Creative Economy.
