HNC Computing aims to develop skills required in the IT industry such as planning, developing, and evaluating, leading to a variety of employment opportunities.

You will be introduced to a variety of software development skills and will develop an understanding of computer hardware and installation and maintenance techniques which are required to compete in an expanding software labour force.

Subjects Include:
Developing Software: Introduction & Programming Foundations; Developing Mobile Web Based Applications: An Introduction; Web Technologies 1: HTML and CSS (Website design); Computer Systems Fundamentals; Hardware/Software & Operating Systems (Cisco IT Essentials); Troubleshooting Computer Problems; Network Concepts (Cisco Networking Essentials); Computing: Project Management; Data Security; Team Working in Computing; Professionalism and Ethics in Computing.

Entry Requirements

One relevant Higher plus English at National 5 (if not held at Higher). Interview.
