This Software Development Fundamentals course introduces a range of skills relating to software development and design, programming and web development. The course will allow you to develop skills that are in demand by industry. You will develop problem solving and other employability skills. This will include development of academic skills that will help prepare you for progression to further study.

The course will be delivered using software that is currently used in industry such as C#, Java and
Python, HTML and CSS.

Although the focus is primarily on software development, you will also cover a range of generic computing skills.

Content includes:
Software Design and Development; Application Development; Web Development; Authoring a Website; Computing Project; Databases; Data Security; Academic Skills.

Entry Requirements

2 subjects at National 5 preferably English and Maths, or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5. Entry may be subject to an interview.

Progression Routes

NC Web Development, NC Software Development or relevant HNC course.
