This is a one year course that has been designed in agreement with The University of Glasgow, to allow successful students to progress onto Year 2 of specific degree programs within the University’s College of Social Sciences.

An HNC in Social Sciences seeks to develop analytical, evaluative, problem solving and communication skills. This course provides in-depth study of the main social science subjects including: Psychology; Sociology; Politics; History; Research Methodology.

In addition to studying these subjects, there are 2 compulsory units included – research methodology and a graded unit exam.

Entry Requirements

2 Highers, English and social science subjects preferred, or NC Social Sciences (Level 6). Entry subject to interview and written test.

Applicants must meet widening access criteria.
