This specialised course is ideal if you have an existing hospitality qualification or currently work in the industry and wish to upskill.

The advanced practical skills and theoretical knowledge will be concentrated in your chosen area of specialism allowing you to contextualise what you have learned.

You will be expected to be able to draw conclusions and suggest solutions in different situations. Written and verbal communication will also be more complex at this level.

Employment opportunities on successful completion of this course are likely to be in roles such as Specialist Careers in Professional Cookery, Menu Development and Financial Controls alongside Professional Bar, Food and Event Service skills.

Entry Requirements

4 subjects at National 5 including English plus relevant work experience, or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6.

Progression Routes

Relevant HNC course. Or hospitality roles such as Chef de Partie or Senior Waiting Team Member.
