This course is designed to provide relevant and flexible skills training for those at the start of their hospitality journey. You will cover a range of units such as Kitchen Porter and basic Food & Drink Service, but you will also focus on employability, home cooking, product knowledge and how to best present yourself.
This course is delivered within the Hospitality & Tourism Academy (HATA) at Moray College UHI and features learning and teaching within training kitchens, classrooms and the college training restaurant, The Beechtree.
Course content includes:
Kitchen Porter; Product Identification; Personal Appearance; Career Paths; Home Cooking; Confidence Serving Drink; Confidence Serving Food; Restaurant Terminology; Introduction to Customer Service.
Working towards two National 4s including English or equivalent e.g. may include relevant attainment at National 3.
NQ Hospitality: Silver. Or hospitality roles such as kitchen assistant, porter or trainee waiter or chef.
