This course is practical in nature with classroom work complimenting the skills learned on placement.

This award is a recognised qualification with the SSSC as a support practitioner.

This course covers child development, health and wellbeing, managing behaviour and play.

Workplacement may form a part of the course with all students completing experience within an early learning and childcare.

You may also have the opportunity to sit a Higher in Childcare and Development.

Entry Requirements

4 subjects at National 5 including English; or Introduction to Childhood Practice (Level 5); or other relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5. Interview and written test.

You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.
