This course aims to provide the knowledge to allow successful performance in the National 5 level Mathematics Course and to provide a qualification which can support applications for Primary Teaching.

The National 5 Mathematics course is assessed by a final exam in May. This has two papers, paper 1 is non-calculator and paper 2 allows the use of a calculator.

The course will cover:

Mathematics: Expressions and Formulae (National 5)
- use mathematical operational skills linked to expressions and formulae
- use mathematical reasoning skills linked to expressions and formulae.

Mathematics: Relationships (National 5)
- use mathematical operational skills linked to relationships
use mathematical reasoning skills linked to relationships.

Mathematics: Applications (National 5)
- use mathematical operational skills linked to applications
- use mathematical reasoning skills linked to applications.
