This course has been designed for you if you have no previous experience of counselling. It will introduce you to the main theoretical schools of counselling and the historical development of each. You will investigate the Psychodynamic, Humanistic and Cognitive Behavioural Schools of Counselling and the role of the counsellor using each approach. This is a free-standing course that provides you with required underpinning knowledge of the subject.
The concept of counselling reflects the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling.
