HNC Additional Support Needs: Supporting the Individual is designed to provide you with the practical skills and theoretical knowledge required to become an effective professional in the area of learning support, working with children, young people or adults in an educational setting, such as a nursery, school, college or specialist educational provision.

Content:
Principles of practice; Theoretical approaches to learning; The effects on human development; Graded unit; Learning approaches; Practical placement with children or adults who have additional support needs.

Entry Requirements

2 Highers including English plus experience in additional support needs, or Foundation Apprenticeship Social Services (Children and Young People) or Social Services and Healthcare, or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 6. Interview.

You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.
