The programme will develop the essentials skills required to successfully apply and progress to employment or NC/NQ college programme is this area.

This is a practical programme with the majority of learning being delivered in a training kitchen and busy college café.

A training allowance is available for travel and lunch.

Along with SQA units in Core Skills, Communications and Employability you will work towards the following units:

Core Skills: Communication, numeracy and working with others; Organisational skills for cookery; Cookery skills, techniques and processes; Café / customer service; Assist with an event; Enterprise; REHIS Elementary Food Hygiene.

You will complete a work placement. Previous work placements have included BBC Scotland and Hampden Stadium.

Entry Requirements

No formal entry requirements. You must be interested in a career in hospitality or events. You will attend an interview.

Progression Routes

NC/NQ college programmes, Modern Apprenticeships or employment.
