Content

This course covers a variety of core subjects in the principles of technology and will lead to an SQA qualification that is recognised and sought after by employers.

It will equip you with the skills and knowledge required to pursue a career or further study in this field. Successful completion of all aspects of the course will allow you to gain a National Certificate at SCQF Level 6 in both electrical engineering and engineering systems.

You will study: Statics; Engineering dynamics: an introduction; Electrical principles; Single and three phase principles; Mechanical Engineering Principles; Engineering Systems; Engineering Project; Electrical testing and measure; Electrical plant maintenance; Maths: Tech 1 and 2.

The Core Skills of ICT, numeracy and communication will be developed and certificated on this course.

Entry Requirements

National 5 English, Maths and Physics or a technological subject; or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5. Interview.
