Construction technicians are responsible for the design and implementation of a wide range of construction projects, from consultation and advisory roles to contractor-based work, in sectors such as industrial, commercial, and domestic structures; energy; infrastructure; and landmark projects, such as the Inverness College UHI campus.

The HND Construction Management will specifically develop your knowledge and specialist skills in areas such as project management, Scottish law (construction), planning, managing teams, human resource in construction, sustainability, and off-site construction.

You will study the following core modules:

Building service in large buildings; Construction technology / commercial superstructure;Estimating; Standard forms of construction contract; Construction planning; Site administration; Scottish law for construction; Economics and the built environment; Statutory control of buildings; Construction site surveying B; Quality in construction; Managing construction organisations; Human resource management in construction; Construction management graded unit 2 (double credit).

Entry Requirements

HNC Built Environment, Construction Management or other relevant HNC.
