The Professional Graduate Diploma in Education (Secondary) is a one year (36 weeks) full-time course of professional training accredited by the General Teaching Council for Scotland. It aims to equip students with the knowledge, skills and attitudes which are necessary to prepare them as new secondary school teachers.

Entry Requirements

You must have an undergraduate degree with at least 80 SCQF credit points from two or more of the areas
listed below: -

Religious Studies, Philosophy, Theology, Divinity, Sociology of Religion, Anthropology of Religion, Psychology of Religion

If you wish specifically to teach Religious Education in Catholic schools you must have an undergraduate degree with at least 80 SCQF credit points in: -
Religious Studies, Theology, Divinity

Which may include a maximum of 20 credit points in Philosophy related to religion.You must also have Higher English plus Maths or Applications of Maths at National 5.
