Through flexible study options, this course will prepare you for the management of people and human resources in a global context. You will gain the relevant knowledge and skills to become an effective line manager or HR professional and meet the needs of today’s rapidly changing organisations.
All students are required to join the CIPD as a student member within one month of commencing their course.
Stage 1:
You will develop a grounding in the core area of organisational behaviour, people management and the professional and research skills required to undertake postgraduate study and develop your people management knowledge base. Key knowledge and skills are developed in HR functional areas which allow you to become familiar with both theory and practice.
You can exit after Stage 1 with PgCert Human Resource Management.
Stage 2:
HR functional skills are further developed with regard to talent management, employee relations, recruitment and selection, and training and development. The final two modules allow you to investigate strategic HRM and demonstrate your practical capabilities by undertaking a Research Report to Management.
You can exit after Stage 2 with PgDip Human Resource Management.
Stage 3:
The Capstone module is designed to provide you with an opportunity to integrate Masters level knowledge and skills by independently working on an applied academic study, a professional dissertation or, where appropriate, business consultancy project from a degree related discipline. Personal and professional skills such as research, oral presentation and teamwork will be developed.
Normally a 2:2 undergraduate honours degree or its equivalent in any subject discipline. Applicants with a lower degree classification and / or relevant work experience will be considered on a case by case basis.
