This Unit forms part of the National 4 Mathematics Course but can also be studied as a stand along Unit. The National 4 qualification enables learners to select and apply straightforward mathematical skills in a variety of mathematical and real-life situations. Learners interpret, communicate and manage information in mathematical form.
The aim of this particular Unit is to develop learners’ numerical and information handling skills to solve straightforward, real-life problems involving number, money, time and measurement. As learners tackle real-life problems, they will decide what numeracy skills to use and how to apply these skills to an appropriate level of accuracy.
You will require completion of National 3 Applications of Maths, relevant component units or equivalent course. You will need a calculator for this course.
On successful completion of this course, you could progress to the National 5 Level course.
