ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence)

North East Scotland College

Off campus

The European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) is the internationally recognised qualification for computer users, and is widely recognised by employers as proof of ability and competence when working with IT.

It is a benchmark qualification in computing, and the essential IT skills you will develop will help to boost your confidence and efficiency – they may even help you to get a new job. To gain the ECDL qualification, you must pass 7 tests, which may be taken in any order.

The seven tests cover the seven modules of the ECDL Syllabus. These are administered throughout Europe by accredited Test Centres, and each test takes 45 minutes. North East College College has been approved by the BCS as an Accredited Test Centre.

Entry Requirements

ECDL is open to anyone – regardless of age, education, experience or background. You must have basic
computer skills however, so the course is not suitable for complete beginners
