This Sports Coaching course will help you to become a modern professional coach with an understanding of how sports science principles apply to athletic performance and helps athletes reach their potential and indeed their goals.

There is a strong emphasis on the practical application of theoretical knowledge. You'll gain the independent study habits, academic and employability skills and deliver volunteer coaching opportunities that will develop your knowledge and skills as and apply them into applied, real life, coaching situations.

Entry Requirements

2024 entry requirements

Standard entry:
4 Highers at BBBC including a science subject plus English, Maths and a science subject at National 5. Higher Physical Education at B will be accepted instead of a science subject if studied alongside Higher Maths.

Widening access entry:
4 Highers at BCCC including a science subject plus English, Maths and a science subject at National 5. Higher Physical Education at B will be accepted instead of a science subject if studied alongside Higher Maths.

For entry to year 2 you require 3 Advanced Highers at BBC including Biology.
