Content

This individual HNC unit enables students to gain knowledge and understanding of the additional support needs of children and young people and how to meet these needs in practice. This is set in the context of current legislation and policy. Students will investigate the agencies and professionals engaged in offering support to children and young people with additional needs and their families.

The unit offers students the opportunity to examine current practice and identify areas to develop. It also enables them to reflect on attitudes and values around disability and equality within society and also on a personal level.
