Content

This course leads to a highly valued National Certificate in Manufacturing Engineering as well as serving as the theory component of a Manufacturing Modern Apprenticeship. It covers a variety of core subjects in the principles of manufacturing technology including advanced manufacturing and will lead to an SQA qualification that is recognised and sought after by employers.

Subjects Include:
Mathematics: Tech 1 and 2; Communication; Information technology; Computer-aided design (CAD); Manufacturing processes (Inc Advanced Manufacturing); Engineering materials; Graphical communications; Dimensional control; Engineering project; Workshop skills; Assembly skills; Mechanical engineering principals.


Entry Requirements

3 subjects at National 5 including Maths and Physics or a technological subject, or relevant national qualifications at SCQF Level 5. Interview.
