This is a creative and technically challenging course designed to introduce you to a variety of outside broadcasting roles. You will gain essential skills and knowledge in filming and live editing sport, music, drama and dance events. Push your potential as you acquire skills in cabling, replay operation and camera work for live broadcasts. Edinburgh College has state-of-the-art broadcast media facilities including our own TV studio. Immerse yourself in the outside broadcasting industry through hands-on learning as you discover dynamic skills using top-of-the-range cameras, microphones and recording equipment.

Content: Introduction to Video Production; Introduction to the outside broadcasting sector of the media industry; Understanding the film industry; Sound production; Health and safety; Team and crew participation roles and responsiblities.

Runs 2 evenings per week with some weekend photoshoots.

Entry Requirements

Experience in video production and editing. Keen interest in camera and post-production live production work.
