Discover a dynamic range of skills and knowledge in basic photography and explore your creative potential through this introductory evening class. The photography department at Edinburgh College offers a fantastic range of dark rooms, studios and digital suites. Here you will use professional and top-of-the-range camera equipment. You will develop your knowledge in the technical aspects of shooting with a Digital Single-Lens Reflex (DSLR), mirrorless and bridge camera. You will learn the use of manual and semi-automatic modes as well as skills in post-production and basic file optimisation. Post-production is an integral part of a studio workflow and will allow progression into further study courses of photography at a higher level. You will also gain the skills needed for an entry level job in the photography industry.
Content: Basic Camera Techniques; Shooting with Semi-Automatic and Manual Settings; Post production using Adobe Camera Raw and Photoshop; Basic Retouching; Print optimisation.
