Are you looking to join Scotland’s future scientific workforce? This course is designed to develop your knowledge and understanding of Biology and Chemistry. Over the course of the year you will gain transferable skills such as ICT, communication and teamwork. You will learn essential laboratory skills.

You will cover a range of National 5 and Higher-Level subjects in preparation for entry into a science related degree:

Biology (with laboratory procedures); Chemistry (with laboratory procedures); Maths and information technology; Communication; Preparation for Higher Education.

Entry Requirements

National 5 Maths. Interview and short test. You must have been out of full-time education for 3 years or more and have no/few formal qualifications.

Progression Routes

Science teaching profession courses or first year entry to Optometry BSc (Hons) degree at University of the Highlands and Islands.
