This is an innovative, project-based course, designed for you to develop both creative and technical knowledge and skills.

You will explore all areas of modern musicianship including performance (bands and solo), session playing, song writing, studio musicianship, the music industry, promotion, and applied music technology. The course has a commercial focus and aims to begin developing your identity as a practicing portfolio musician, integrating practical development with the related portfolio of skills to compete in the global music industry.

You will be taught by highly qualified, industry accredited lecturers and learn about all aspects of the global music industry.

Content: Live performance; MIDI sequencing; Songwriting; First study instrument; Sound engineering and production; An introduction to the UK music industry; Composing skills; Music theory.

Entry Requirements

4 subjects at National 5 including English and Music. Performance skills at suitable level (Grade 4 Rock School equivalent). Some knowledge of music theory. A basic understanding of job roles and organisations in the music industry. Interview and audition.
