This qualification relates directly to the job role of a Make-Up Artist. Units include: Applying Make-Up; Instruction on Make-Up; Fashion and Photographic Make-Up; Media Make-Up; Camouflage Make-Up and Promoting Products and Services. Specialist units include: Styling and Fitting a Postiche and Create and Cast Small Prosthetic Pieces and Bald Caps.
Throughout this qualification you will develop knowledge and understanding of relevant communications, anatomy and physiology, health and safety, client care and cosmetic products and equipment. You will also develop a range of technical skills and interpersonal skills. This qualification is based on the Beauty Therapy; National Occupational Standards (NOS).
Entry onto this qualification can be via previous attainment of a Level 1 Make Up Artistry or a Level 2 qualification in beauty. Selection is based on a group information session, skills test and individual interview. A satisfactory reference may be required.
To gain employment as a make-up artist in a variety of contexts. On completion of this course you will also be eligible to join a professional association and gain insurance as a make-up artist.
