Main Campus, Virtual Learning Environment (VLE)
The course is offered in partnership with Argyll and Bute, Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, Highland, Moray, Orkney Islands and Shetland Islands councils, each working with the university through their local campus. The course is also offered in partnership with Scottish Borders council, with applicants based in the Borders registered through Inverness College UHI.
The PGDE (Secondary) consists of 18 weeks study at the university plus 19 weeks in professional practice in schools.
You must have a degree containing 120 SCQF credit points with 40 credit points from List A and 40 credit points from List B. 40 of the credit points must have been studied at SCQF Level 8 or above. You must also have Higher English plus Maths or Applications of Maths at National 5.
List A technological subjects such as mechanical, electrical or electronic engineering sciences, mechatronics, architecture, construction technology, building services.
List B design and graphic related subjects such as computer-aided design, graphic design, computer-aided design manufacture, industrial design and product design.
You will have to demonstrate that you have practical craft skills.
