This is essentially the same course as the NQ Health and Social Care. It aims to equip you with a thorough knowledge of human growth and development. Through theoretical study and placement, the skills required to work in health and social care settings will be enhanced. This course builds the foundations to a career in either nursing, health or social care.

This course is part of the Scottish Wider Access Programme (SWAP) and provides the skills and entry requirements you need to progress to Higher Education.

Entry Requirements

To apply for this course, you must have been out of full-time education for at least 3 years, or 5 years, if you have previously studied to Highers level. Any study done on a part-time basis will not affect your eligibility. You must demonstrate in your personal statement experience and commitment to working in this field. You will attend an interview.

You will require a satisfactory criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland to show that you are suitable for this type of course. Contact Disclosure Scotland for details on the type you would need.
